Simple Graduation Card

It's May...the sun was shining today...granted I was still dressed like it was winter...but the sun was shining none the less here in MN.  I see that over at Celebrate The Occasion the theme of the challenge for this week is graduation.  It seems like every year I'm always scrambling last minute for a card for my staff and other students who are graduating and such.  So I thought this year I would try to get a little bit ahead of the game and I created these simple and somewhat personalized graduation cards.

I used a simple font on my Cricut and welded the letters of the college together and I used school colors.  All and all it was a pretty simple card to put together.  I lined the cards with white paper so it would be easy to write a note in the inside versus needed to use white ink on a black card.  I also cut out a small diploma and trimmed off the cuts I didn't like and tied some ribbon around each scroll.  I hope you enjoy it!

The Deets:
Cricut cut for letters and diploma--of course I don't know what carts I used! Oops!
Paper: SU!  Ugh...I need to work on my photography...it's supposed to be red...kinda looks orange
Ribbon: from M's

So simple!  Might as well make a bunch :)

Who Wants A Juicy Lucy?

Hi...if you are looking for my FCCB Spring Fling post click here for some sweet BLOG CANDY!!!

I hope you're all having a great night.  Tonight I made a card for my friends TK and RK-- they are super fabulous people and we had dinner with them a few nights back (yes, yes, a delayed Thank You...shhh don't tell Ms. Manners please)!   But TK made "juicy lucys" for us and wow they were delicious!  So while I was also wandering around at some of my favorite sites and found a challenge that this card would be perfect for!  Amber is having a challenge this week and the theme is "My Favorite Things!"

What a super fun challenge so I used some of my favorite things for this card!  I love kraft colored cardstock, I think gingham rocks, I LOVE juicy lucy burgers and spending time with friends we love is also my favorite :)  And I used my Cricut...yet another fave! Oooo and I did a gate fold card--love those too! And did I mention how I LOVE stamps from the $ bin!!  Oh...and for those of you who are wondering...a "juicy lucy" is a hamburger that is filled with ooey gooey yummy melty cheese--delicious!  There are many places in MN and I'm sure other parts of the country who claim to have the best juicy lucy!  But I think TK might give them all a run for their money :)

The Juicy Details!
Cricut Cut: Simply Charmed
Paper: random scraps
Stamp: from the $ bin at J's!! LOVE IT!

Hockey!

Ugh...what a day!  I can't believe how just this weekend I was running around outside with no coat enjoying the lovely spring weather and today...well wow... I had to bust out my coat, mittens and a hat :( I was so looking forward to spring and was loving that I could finally see the grass---but as I look out my window all I see is blowing and drifting snow!

But I will not let the weather get me down too much!  For this post I am sharing a card I made for some great friends whom I spent last weekend with-- ahhhh it was so much fun!  We spent time in St. Paul and had a great time at the X!  A good time was had by all...well maybe not everyone but I know I had a blast.  My friends are huge hockey fans so I found this card to be quite fitting for them and even tailored the colors to their team!  I am entering this card into the challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion.  The challenge over there this week was to create a thank you card but to make sure it included a tag!  I really love how this card turned out!  I hope you enjoy it too!!

Recipe
Cricut Cuts: Tag and Tag holder from TBBM
Net, stick and puck from EPD, and thanks--not sure :(
Paper: DSP from my stash and solid from Recollections
Other: Brad Making Memories, Ribbon Bazzill

FCCB Challenge #50

Today the challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut is to use a tree! Any type of tree will do!  So pull out your cartridges and join the lovely and talented Design Team members :)

For my tree...I used a tree from Serenade which is a solutions cartridge.  It was a fun cartridge to play with.  I will admit this was my first cut from this cartridge-- it's definitely different to get used to not having the book to go along with the cartridge but I think I managed to do okay.

I could not decide on a sentiment for this card so at this point I have just decided to leave it blank--let me know if you have any ideas!!

As I was putting the card together I found a random sheet of printed designer paper in the blue and that served well as the background and sky!  The leaves needed a little bit of something so I used some stickles to brighten up the card.  The grass was cut out using my trusty grass punch from Martha.  Then as I was finishing the card I decided it just needed a little bit more and I decided clouds it was.  I had already turned my cricut off and didn't know of a cloud cut off hand-- so I used my punch from SU! the cupcake and used the frosting from the cupcake as clouds for my card!

Recipe
Cricut Cartridge: Serenade Solution tree cut at 5.5 inches
Paper: Unknown blue, all other SU!
Punch: SU! Cupcake Punch
Other stuff: Diamond Stickles

Tons of Fun...or A Huge Thanks...

This little elephant just screams fun!  It was a Zoo Theme Challenge at More Than Favors.  I of course decided to play along.  I put aside my Create-A-Critter and I used one of my newest cartridges-- Birthday Bash and I am quite pleased with how this elephant came out.  I again was using up the scraps that were strewn about my table-- yes, the kitchen table... I could just as well re-name it my Cricut Cutting Station!  I do more "cooking" on my Cricut than on the stove!

The stamp is from My Pink Stamper and I am unsure about the pink designer paper-- I believe it might be from a Die-Cuts-With-A-View stack...a friend and I often split the paperstacks so we can have more designs without all the excess paper...haha excess paper....silly me :)  The solid shimmery gray I know is from DCWV and the pink is SU!

 Recipe:
Cricut: Elephant cut from Birthday Bash at 3.5 inches
Paper: DCWV and SU!
Stamps: My Pink Stamper
Punches: circles and scallop circle from SU!
Ink: SU!

So many challenges...so little time :-)

There are soooo many fun challenges out there this week and I had a blast playing with a handful of them I came across while searching some of my favorite blogs!  The Creative sisters Linda and Patti-Lynn at http://lindascreativity.blogspot.com/ had a challenge today to use something that is embossed--I embossed my coffee cup!  Challenge #48 at http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/ was also to emboss!  So I thought I'd would enter this challenge as well :)

Also while I was wandering around the Internet I noticed yet another cool challenge and this was found at http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/  The challenge presented here was to use a cup!  So I took a look through my cartridges and found a cup that I enjoyed!  And lastly for this card I also embossed as that was the challenge at http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/  the ONLY cooking I really do is with my Cricut!

Recipe:
Cricut: Lyrical Letters for the coffee cup
Paper: dsp DCWV stack, SU! Sahara Sand solid
Ink: SU! Sahara Sand
Punches: SU! small oval and key tag punch
Stamp: saying is from MorningStar stamps
Other: I used a white gel pen to do some random marks around the card

Spring is coming!

I can feel it...I can just tell Spring is almost here!  WOW soooo many puddles today!  I love seeing the ice and snow melting like crazy.  I decided today that I "need" a pair of wellies which is what inspired the card I made tonight.  I just can't believe how warm it was today-- what a glorious day that's for sure :)

I also decided to take some time to play with another challenge.  This challenge was posted over at http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/ and this challenge is for the Challenge #47 Weather Forecast!  And oh baby Spring is soooooo in the air!  The wellies are cut from the Paisley cartridge at 3 inches!  Almost all of the paper is from DCWV and SU!  The pearls are just some random ones I had lying around in a drawere they are from a discount store here in town.

Recipe
Paper: DCWV and SU!
Cricut Cartridge: the rain boots are cut at 3 in from the Paisley Cartridge
Other stuff: The pearls are no name in an unmarked package :)
I LOVE the plaid paper!  So cute!  Enjoy!

A New Home

Today I created a little card for a friend who just moved into a new home.  Brrrrr moving in MN in the cold winter isn't my idea of excitement...but then again packing to move isn't all that appealing to me anytime.

For this cutie I used my cricut Wild Card Cartridge.  The house, envelope and layers were all cut at 5.5 in.  I used some Very Vanilla cardstock from SU! for the base, the polka dot DSP I unfortunately have NO clue who that is from--I cut up some of my 12x12 DSP into 6x6 pieces and unfortunately didn't keep track of what was what!  And the blue paper is from a Recollections package I believe--as it doesn't feel like SU!.  I also used two different sized silver brads.  Enjoy!

Eeeeeeeek A Mouse!!!

So I'm still addicted to and loving my Create-A-Critter cartridge.  While I was out shopping the other day I found yet another set of stamps from My Pink Stamper that I absolutely had to have!  "Have A Mice Day!" is from that set...wow...who on earth would have thought a mouse could be so gosh darn adorable!  I cut it out in the various colored layers and added some gray flocking to the gray layer--I just love how it turned out.  I used two mini brad that I picked up at Michaels the other day--I love how tiny they are!  So cute!  Enjoy my card and "Have a Mice Day!"

My Pink Stamper Design Team Challenge and Submission

I am dying to be part of a design team so I decided...what the heck I might as well try!  I have long admired the works of Robyn at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ --She's sooooo fabulous and I love her work and admire her creativity and spunk!  So I have decided to take the plunge and submit my card for her design team!  Oh what an honor that would be :-)

Robyn put forth the challenge to make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project using my favorite cartridge and her favorite colors, pink green and brown!

Recipe:  As you can see I pulled out the cricut and created a super cute beaver using the "Create A Critter" cartridge (that cartridge has helped me find a new love...or a true love for my Cricut!)  I also used chocolate chip, close to cocoa, regal rose, whisper white, very vanilla and old olive cardstock all from Stampin' Up.  The cute sentiment is from "My Pink Stamper" and is called "Punny-licious"--a MUST HAVE if you love the "Create a Critter" cartridge!  The ribbon is also grosgrain ribbon in Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Old Olive also from Stampin' Up!  I also used 2 circle punches and the scallop circle punch from SU!  The cute embossed paper in the green color is from a Die-Cuts-With-A-View stack -The Guy Collection.  The small gemstone flower is unknown.

Thank you so much for taking a peek!  Wish me luck!
