Loads of Love-chick challenge #11

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you're all having a great day.  I hope you love the card I have created for the 11th Chick Challenge.  If you've not stopped by and pulled out your Ippity stamps to play you totally should!  Chick Challenges with Ippity is one of my favorite places to stop by daily!  Love to see how creative soooooo many people are!  Love it.  Hope you enjoy my card-- love this set.  It's called Loads of Love!

I am also starting to keep myself accountabe and I want to make a goal to send 100 cards to OWH so I am going to use a counter on my blog to keep me a little bit more accountable!  So I have some cards ready to go but I am going to start my counter over fresh today!  And this card will go in the box. I hope the twine on the side won't be an issue-- please if I have any OWHers who see this-- please let me know if that makes the card too bulky!

A Tag-tastic Monday! And a little blog candy!

Happy Monday blog friends.  I hope you are all doing well and having a great day!  I can't believe it's almost Christmas--yowza where has the month gone.  I hope you are excited to join my fabulous design team friends at Fantabulous Cricut for our Monday Challenge!  This week's challenge is all about tags!  We're "trimming with tags" and I soooo hope you join us.  This challenge will be active for 2 weeks instead of one!  So hopefully you will find some time to create with us.  Go ahead and use a tag in any way on your project!

Oh and did you see the fabulous paper I used?  I bet you did.  It's awesome Core'dinations paper!  My project used paper from the Flower Power Vintage Collection.   The vintage collection has a presanded look to it-- however, I think it looks great when you take some extra time to sand it!  Which is what I did.  It also looks great when you rip the paper too.  I also debossed and embossed my tags.  Core'dinations is the sponser for this challenge-- so get your project in for a chance to win!!!  You won't be disappointed.  And just for fun I am going to have a little bit of fun-- I have some great Core'dinations paper and I would LOVE to share!  Link up a project at FCCB and be one of my followers!  On Monday, January 2, 2012 I will do a drawing and the lucky winner will receive some 6x6 sheets of Core'dinations paper!

Here are my tags side by side!  A little sanding looks awesome :)

Debossed tag that was sanded.

Embossed and then sanded!

Happy Sunday!  Ugh I can't believe the weekend is over...oh how sad!  But it's a short work week for me with the holidays being next weekend--which is also crazy!!!  But between a little baking I had to get to my crafts.  I simply had to create a card for the Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch Challenge.  This week the challenge was Designer's Choice so anything goes!  I hope you enjoy my card.  PKS is having a design team call right now...oh how I wish I would be selected!

Unity! and a sweet treat!

It's finally Friday... oh Friday how I've missed you.  I am so ready for this week to be over.  Granted I need to work late tonight but that's okay...it's Friday!  So because it's Friday you know that means it's time to join my friends at Unity for a friends with flair day!  And I also decided to link this card up for the Unity Ippity Anything Goes Challenge.   It was a super easy card to make and I am pleased with how it turned out-- a great card when you are looking for something quick-- I know that I am always in need of a note card to send!  Hope you like it!  Yay for colored pencils :)

Would you like a sweet treat?  I will be giving away a Unity Itty Bitty on Monday morning-- please make sure you leave a sweet comment for me here!  If you are a follower that would make me super happy-- but of course not required...but I like followers!  Comments will need to be left before 11:59 PM CST.

Thanks for being so sweet!

I'm in love with this stamp set and I am sooooo glad I was able to find some time to use it today.  This set is the Peachy Keen Stamps: Faceless Corn and I love it.  The face are super cute and I love them.  There was a challenge for Let's Face It Friday with PKS--Fabric Scraps.  Clearly the challenge was to use a PKS face and some fabric...wow... I didn't have a clue what to do so I pulled out a scrap of fabric that I had and ran it through my cuttlebug and ended up with some black flowers---hmmm not dead just a new color :)

I then had to pull out my I-Top brad maker-- ummmm hello why on earth had I NOT been making brads with faces before this?!?!  Well I am sure you will see more of these cuties!

Lots and lots of gold!

Happy Sunday friends!  I hope this post finds you well.  Today I found some time to be working on some card sets for my mom to give as Christmas gifts.  I had been checking out the talent over at SCS and decided that I was going to case a card from mommy fink.  This is her card:

I really liked the layout/sketch that she used so that is what I decided to case for my card.  I must say I am in love with this fabulous DCWV stack-- DCWV Fresh Floral  I typically shy away from the non cardstock stacks but I was really drawn to this one...and I am happy to admit that I have been using this paper like crazy!

Herringbone Frosty!

Yay some of my goodies arrived from my friends at Unity-- they had a rockin' good sale so I simply had to pick some stamps up!  I had to have this roly poly little snowman...he's so cute!  I colored a bunch of them and was deciding what to use them for.  I was hanging out on SCS and found these great instructions for this "herringbone" technique.  It's a little fussy but SUPER easy to do--just takes a bit of time and patience... good thing I have time this weekend because I certainly never have patience :)  It needs a little something...but I haven't figured out just what so in he shall stay like this until I figure it out!

I will also be linking this card up over with all of the other lovely and talented crafters who are creating for the challenge over at Unity-- "Let it Snow"
is the theme!  Check it out!

Friday!! Whooooo hoooo!!

It's finally Friday... but I must say this week went by super fast!  I am soooo far behind on quite a few things it's almost maddening!  I am hoping I can catch up this weekend.  I've spent far too much time on pinterest that's for sure...and well my bestie spends too much time on there as well...so tonight I made laundry detergent.  Yep...you heard me :)
I did also take some time tonight to make a couple of cards-- one I will be posting here is from my newest Ippity by Unity set...ummmm hello it's super cute.  My wonderful friend Jen sent it to me for my birthday-- super sweet huh!  And thanks all to her I am now fully aware of what Unity is and how super great it is... before I met her I didn't own one single Unity stamp...ummm well I can assure you all that that has changed!  I of course had to join my own fabulous friends at Unity for Friday's Friends with Flair!  I hope you take some time to peek at all the other awesome cards!

On a sad note...well not too terribly sad... I had planned to add this card to my OWH box...but I got a little carried away in my crafting and added glitter :( boooo glitter is a HUGE OWH no-no!  So I will simply have to create another one sans the glitter.  Okay enough rambling!

A whole week...

Yikes!  I can't believe it's been a whole week since I have posted!  That's way tooo long to have gone without crafting!  But I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I have started worked on some gift sets to give for the Holidays and these cards are the first in a series of randomness that I am working-- I am thinking 5 cards per set...so these will be the sympathy cards for each set.  What do you think?  Sorry the picture is crummy!  But you get the idea :)

Back to Thanksgiving...

So yesterday I posted a Valentine's Day card and have a couple more for later posts...but today during lunch I whipped up these cute wrapped candy bars for my staff to let them know how thankful I am for them :)   These are super easy to make...used a full size kit-kat, a 6x6 piece of DSP and some scor-tape and a crimper!  I can't remember where the idea for this came from...only because it's so easy and I didn't book mark it when I found it years ago!  Enjoy!

Love every inch...

Oh dear...my Cricut is taking a bit of a vacation so I am working on stamping the old fashioned way :) hehe!  I received a new Itty Bitty from my friends at Unity!  It's pretty cute.  I had to stare at this set for quite some time before this card came to me :)

I picked up a new paper stack from Hobby Lobby on Friday with the intention of making Valentine's Day/Love themed cards for the fabulous Operation Write Home organization.  If you are looking for a great way to support the troops from your own craft room I highly recommend you stop by their blog.  OWH also does an amazing job with providing sketch challenges and other great ways to inspire your creativity!

Thanksgiving!

Ummmm can someone please tell me where on earth the first couple of weeks in November went?!?!  I can't believe November is almost over and Thanksgiving is almost upon us :)  I have so much to be thankful for this year and every year!  I just wished I'd remember to be more thankful each and every day :)  But alas it is time for Thanksgiving cards to be sent!  I finished up a bunch of them and decided that I of course had to show you them!  I promise this is likely the last time this year you will see this same stamp---but seriously it's so stinkin' cute I just can bear to put it away just yet!  So maybe one more before Thanksgiving is actually upon us!

I scream...you scream....

I scream...you scream... (think if I scream loud enough Melanie and Tammy will hear me screaming to be on their DT?)  Do you ever have one of those days.... I think I am having one of those weeks-- and to top it all off I think I am getting sick again...feels like a sinus infection...but you're not here to listen to me whine :) I decided I simply had to join in on the Terrific Tuesday Challenge at Scrappy Moms the challenge is to create a 3D project and add either twine or a button!  Well I decided to add both :)  I also hope you are getting geared up to see Scrappy Moms amazing guest designer for the month of November... she's really fab...oh wait..it's me :) hehe! Whoa...that's a whole lot of shameless plugs for myself!
So enough rambling and onto my project.  I used the Sweet Treats cartridge to cut this little box out and I kinda love how it turned out-- super easy to put together and I had orginally cut cones for both sides but decided to add a sentiment to one side by itself versus tying a tag on with twine...hope you like it :)

Whoa...a Christmas card...yikes

Okay, okay, okay I know it's way toooooo early for a Christmas card but I had to try a new technique. I was checking out some great blogs the other day and I stopped by Larelyn's blog and she shared a new technique that she tried by using something she found at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Yikes I just simply had to try this so I took a short drive...well about 90 miles...but hey it was for a crafting emergency!  I stopped at a Scrap Store and picked up some awesome glitter and some Elizabeth Craft Designs stickers.  I really, really, really, wanted some flowers but I think so did everyone else in MN :)  So I picked up a some snowmen heads!  hehe!  Thanks Larelyn for the great idea :)

Go easy...

Okay friends...be polite!  I just picked up a few Copic markers the other day and I tried them out on this image.  It was a little small to do any blending and such for this beginner so I tried it and think I have a looooooooooot of practice that I need to start doing :)

I am linking up this card with my friends over at Unity for Fridays with Flair...oh dear me.  Also  you might want to stop at their store to pick up some stamps...they are having some AWESOME sales!  Wow...that's about all I can say :)

Sew Easy...

Okay so I'm still not completely sure that I am in love with this new gadget but I had to have it... my bestie sent me a link with an amazing project on it made with the Sew Easy...well my little card looks nothing like that!  However, the Sew Easy is kinda fun to play with.  I picked up a couple of extra heads for this tool this that punch different designs--so I will have to take those for a spin one of these days.

I decided to link this card Tacky Tuesday Challenge on Facebook.  The challenge was to use a frog cut and to inclue the word "frog or toad."  So I did just that :)  LOVE this frog cut and the eyes crack me up!  Enjoy :)

Good Morning friends!  I had to create a card quick before getting on the road and I "had" to use the sketch at Chicks Challenge with Ippity.  It was a lot of fun!  I love having a sketch to go off of it helps me not to stick with the same sketch over and over :)  I adore this new stamp set from Ippity---super cute!  If you don't have an Ippity chick please let me know and I can highly recommend one for you--she's awesome!  I'd couldn't fit a sentiment on like I planned but I do enjoy how this turned out.  I think the cork was a great idea ;)  hehe!

I'm in love...

Yes, folks...I am in love...with a new set of stamps...holy cuteness is about all I can say for this new set!  I had to order the super adorable Faceless Corn from Peachy Keen.  It's even cuter in person-- oy the little faces and the punny phrases to go along with it...love!

So of course I had to pull out this set to use for the PKS sketch challenge.  I did some paper piercing for the ear of corn and love how it turned out!  This little face is my favorite from the set!  Hope you enjoy my corny card for the day!

Happy Monday everyone!  Oh my goodness I can't believe how chilly it's getting here in MN.  After being gone for a few days in KS I can't believe how cool it is here...yikes!  Time to put away the sandals and bring out some real shoes.  It's Monday and it's time for another challenge with the lovely ladies at Fantabulous Cricut! Today the challenge is to create a project with the color purple and include a monster or a bug in it!  Don't forget of course that you need to use your Cricut :)  I can't wait to see what you create!!!

Give Thanks!

I figured it was time to give myself a little break from the Halloween scene and work on some Thanksgiving cards.  I found this adorable stamp at the Stampin' and Scrappin' Expo awhile back and I love it!  It was super easy to color in with my markers and of course I had to add a little glitter to just about everything :)  Thanks for stopping by!

The Deets:
Cricut: Elegant Edges
Stamp from DeNami Design
Paper: Stampin' Up
