Go Twins!

Oh Blogger--you are making me so very sad.  I am have been trying to leave comments and I had a post all set to go live yesterday...well from the looks of things I think you can tell that that never happened :( Oh how sad!  This was the project for FCCB!  It's time again for challenge me Monday!   The challenge this week is to make something to remember!  And you can remember an anniversary, a special person or a special time!  I have not quite figured out if I am going to use this as a place to remember my keys or if I am going to create a frame to hang from the bottom to remember all of the fun times I have at Twins baseball games!

I am pretty sure I will alter this so it can somehow be a picture frame so I can treasure my memories from the games :) Even though my team isn't doing so well right now I still think they can pull it off :)  I found this wooden piece at a local craft store, I painted it red and then modge podged some baseball printed paper over the top of it.  The letters have been cut from Nate's ABCs and the glove, bat and ball were cut from the baseball solutions cartridge which has been retired.

I hope you enjoy my project today.  Please join us at FCCB for this weeks challenge!  I would LOVE to see what you come up with for the challenge.

Meet My Girlfriend Ethel!

Ahhh meet my good friend Ethel.  She's how I feel when I wake up some mornings!  I most certainly don't sleep in my pearls nor in curlers--but I think you get the picture.  I love the coffee cup she holds in her hand...I feel like her before I have my first cup in the morning.  Ms. Ethel is from Rubber Necker Stamp Company lots of great stamps-- the "Old Character" section of stamps cracks me up.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know my good friend Ethel.  I love her pearls and fuzzy slippers :)

FCCB Challenge #61: Blue Skies

Ahhhh I didn't intend for this card to be so dreary but I went with it!  I had started with the clouds and was going with a dream sorta theme to go with my blue skies but this turned into a card that might work for someone who's having a rough go at life or such.  I hope you can join us at FCCB! for our Fantabulous "Blue Skies" challenge.  Go ahead and make a project with the color blue and a cloud shape--using atleast one cricut cut! I can't wait to see what you create :)    I do love how the rainbow effect came through on the little cloud over the word rainbow-- love it!  Thanks for stopping by!

UNITY Addiction...

Oh dear-- so I know I had mentioned I picked up some new stamps at the Stamping and Scrapbooking Expo last weekend...and wowzers I had  heard about Unity Stamps--BUT I had no idea I'd soon become addicted to them.  The people at the Unity booth were so kind and it just made me smile and it was cool to chat with them a little as they are a MN company--which I think is great.  I decided to pull out some of my "grab bag" goodies and this is the card I came up with.

I was dying to get my hands on this little tree and my friend Sarah and I had about 5 grab bags between the 2 of us and she had the tree and I pretty much begged for it...well it wasn't that dramatic but I did score the tree so I was happy :)  This cloud stamp...seriously...LOVE it!!!

Simple Flag

Today there is a challenge over at Frosted Designs and I decided to play along.  My card is quite simple and of course doesn't compare to the lovely work of the design team but I like how it turned out.  I'm sorry I do know it is not an accurate representation of a flag but I took some creative license-- I hope I don't offend anyone.  I was inspired to do this card after seeing tons and tons of cards using punches to make ruffles.  It was super easy and kinda fun!

The Deets
Paper: SU, real red and night of navy, random white
Punches: SU border, Fiskers star punch

Happy Anniversary!

I'm not celebrating a special anniversary but I did make this cute simple card for the challenge over at Celebrate The Occasion.  It is their 14th Challenge and this week's theme is "Anniversary."  I am sure I can find someone to send this card to when an anniversary comes around :)  I do enjoy making the tall/long cards-- I love how it's a little bit different from the "normal" A2 card size...but I can easily find an envelope to send off my creation.

Hey Chickie!

So over the last few days I've noticed I lost some blog posts :( UGH!  How frustrating when things don't work like you want them too!  I pre-did some posts as I knew I'd be away from my computer for a bit--but alas they are likely somewhere out in cyber-space.  Oh well!

Over the weekend I went to the "Stampin' and Scrapping Expo" in St. Paul, MN-- it was a pretty good time.  If you've been you know that in the past it's been better-- as it has now combined with the "Women's Expo" hmmmm I loved when the building was filled strictly with crafts versus other "womanly" type things... hmmm but alas it was a great time.  I did pick up a few new goodies and decided I had to use a couple of my stamps right away.  I was intrigued by the cute stamps available from DeNami Designs so I picked up a couple and created this card.  They are actually having a challenge over at their blog and the challenge is to use "Patterned Paper."  This is what I came up with...I'm not 100% sold but I do like it...I just don't love it!  I hope you enjoy!

You're A Peach!

Over the weekend there were lots and lots of National Scrapbooking Day challenges-- and due to work I wasn't able to play :(  But I did have this cute card in mind--because I had most of the pieces in my scrap pile because I'd created this cutie once before :) I enjoy how it turned out so I decided to do a quick challenge over at  Cardz TV Challenge.  The challenge was to make a card using fruit!!  So I did :)  Enjoy!

Apple of My Eye!

It's Monday and that means it's time for another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge!  Visit the FCCB Blog! to check out Challenge #59!  Today's challenge is a "Teacher Feature" and we are hoping you will make a project for that special teach with the color red on it!  Don't forget to use atleast one cricut cut in your submitted project!

Ahhh I feel like I have been away from the crafting world for way tooo long!  It's been days since I've picked up some ink and paper.  Work has been insane and for the next few weeks I'm sure it will continue to be so.  For this project I used the Wrap It Up cartridge--I really enjoy this cartridge and I hope to find some more time to play with it.  I also used some lined paper I had in my stash-- I wish I could remember who it is from...I remember when I purchased it I picked up some paper that had clothes on a line with it-- but I can't recall the brand!  I also used my SU spiral punch...I really have been loving that punch lately.  I am working on using it to cover a jouranal--once I'm done I'll post it.

I hope you enjoy my project today!  Don't forget we'd love to have you join our challenge this week :)

One Stitch At A Time!!

Ahhhh how I wish I could sew!  That is a skill I do not have...wish I did but alas I don't.  I created this card for the Sew Fabulous Simply Sunday challenge.  This challenge can be found at  Getting Cricky!  I highly recommend you check out the lovely cards that others have submitted.  I hope you enjoy mine!

I picked up the stamp set from JoAnn's and for the life of me I can't find the package that has the details on it :(  Sorry about that but it's a great sewing set.  I like how I added the floss to the spool of thread and even added a sewing needle as an extra pop :)

Simple Graduation Card

It's May...the sun was shining today...granted I was still dressed like it was winter...but the sun was shining none the less here in MN.  I see that over at Celebrate The Occasion the theme of the challenge for this week is graduation.  It seems like every year I'm always scrambling last minute for a card for my staff and other students who are graduating and such.  So I thought this year I would try to get a little bit ahead of the game and I created these simple and somewhat personalized graduation cards.

I used a simple font on my Cricut and welded the letters of the college together and I used school colors.  All and all it was a pretty simple card to put together.  I lined the cards with white paper so it would be easy to write a note in the inside versus needed to use white ink on a black card.  I also cut out a small diploma and trimmed off the cuts I didn't like and tied some ribbon around each scroll.  I hope you enjoy it!

The Deets:
Cricut cut for letters and diploma--of course I don't know what carts I used! Oops!
Paper: SU!  Ugh...I need to work on my photography...it's supposed to be red...kinda looks orange
Ribbon: from M's

So simple!  Might as well make a bunch :)

FCCB Challenge #58

Oh my word...can you believe that it's May already!  I can't and it most certainly doesn't feel like May here.  I had my winter coat on yesterday and last night I was chilly all evening.  Not at all what I am expecting to feel like for the first few days of May!

So much is happening at work right now that it's crazy!  Things are soooo soooo busy!  I am hoping for a quick next couple of weeks and I'm praying things will soon settle down.  But enough of my blabbing!  Onto the challenge.  This weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut! is "Flower Shower" and you are asked to create a project with at least 3 flowers on it!!  Head on over to FCCB and check out the lovely projects by the other design team members and please join our challenge--we would LOVE to have you join us!

My card for today was designed from a lovely gift from a friend at work.  She knows I love Clinique...not always the products they sell--well okay I love those too.  But I am a sucker for the "gifts with purchase."  During Valentine's Day they had an adorable bag that was hot pink with other pinks and lime green mixed in a lovely tulip pattern---so I modeled my card after that!  I hope you enjoy it!

Paper: Solid SU, DSP DCWV
Cricut Cut: Walk In My Garden
Ribbon: $ Tree
